BattleBots Season 3

Some of these picture show damage done to bots in the fights, and may hint at fight outcomes (though some are misleading). Don't go further if you don't want to know any results! If you see any errors, or have anything to add, please let me know (joseph@fiebers.com). So many fights (over 300), so much to remember...

A very large gas powered clamping bot.
Light Weight robot Snow Flake and Middle Weight robot ? from Team Toad.
Fuzzy's new Super Heavy Weight Ice Berg.
Fuzzy's returning Heavy Weight Frost Bite.
Team Cool Robots new robot Dreadnought, a wedge with a powerful double vertical spinning blade.
Toe Crusher fresh out of the crate, without the arm attached.
Minion with new additions. The wedge is stronger, it has a self righting arm, and the saw has been replaced by a heavy vertical spinning blade.
Christian Carlberg having a picture taken with one of his many fans next to the new bot Dreadnought.
A view of the pits.
Another view of the pits.
Still another view.
Two bots next to my pit table. The closest one is Froghemouth, the further is Daisy. Both are Light Weights.
An view of the pits from the balcony.
Panning right.
Further right.
Jim working on Nightmare by flashlight power in the parking lot.
Competitors hard at work in the outside 'grinding/welding' area.
Overkill gets unpacked.
Toe Crusher with the arm attached.
Killerhurtz, it kills, it hurts.
The BattleBox, still under construction.
Vladinator, the new Super Heavy Weight by the driver of Vlad the Impaler.
Whyachi (SHW) on the ground, and Son of Whyachi (HW) on the table above. This team is from Wisconsin, and it's rumored that they spent $60K on the two robots.
Aries
The safety meeting on Thursday morning.
Car steering setup on Killerhurtz.
Another view.
A disassembled view of the Middle Weight walker that is redefining walkers. This thing is fast!
The Light Weight version of the walker. I saw it being test driven outside, and it is faster than most of the wheeled bots, and very controllable. 1/2" aluminum sides.
Before we were told we couldn't take pictures during matches, I snapped this one of Light Weights ? and Bambino in an early Preliminary match.
More of the same match. Notice the two baseball bats that used to be attached to Bambino, now on the BattleBox floor.
Dead Blow, with additional side wedges, and an extra wedge like attachment to the 'pecker'.
Mauler 5150 (HW).
Salad (LW).
Another view of the box.
The view from Building 180 to the Bay Bridge.
The Light Weight walker I mentioned earlier. Very fast and controllable. Walking motion is done through four aluminum 'feet' on each side propelled by a cam.
A view of the Judge, one of the most amazing new bots.
Another view of the Judge. That spike put two holes in the floor of the BattleBox, and had to be changed to a hammer.
Dead Blow without wheels.
Roy explaining that we can only take pictures before and after the event.
Little Drummer Boy (MW) had a very effective spinning drum.
Little Drummer Boy used four 24v Dewalt drill motors, two for drive, and two for the drum. Notice the nice Lexan motor mounts.
Ziggo
Battle damage.
Looks like a visit to the killsaws.
The box
More of the box.
This blade was straight before the fight...
After a visit with the pulverizors.
A cast aluminum shell.
Blade Runner after a hard days work.
The Kevlar armor held up well, but the Kill Saws can be unforgiving.
Toe Crusher during a test drive in the parking lot.
More box.
Carlo and wife with Biohazard while the Mouldin's look on in the background.
No Apologies after an encounter with The Judge.
More battle damage.
The damage doesn't end.
Brian working on Towering Inferno.
Now what could peel back the armor like that?
You've heard of Bigger Brother, well this is Little Sister.
Even OverKill gets damaged.
One of the Raptors
Ice Cube
Who needs four wheels.
Team Clobber member Mike displaying the piece of Vlad the Impaler he got from a CrewBot.
Late night grinding in the parking lot.
Jim posing with Nightmare.
The box with the lights going.
Close up of the Tilford motor mount in Mauler 5150.
Another close up of Mauler 5150.
Nightmare in a slightly 'disassembled' state.
Ziggo with the lid off.
Hazard with the lid off, displaying the 18v Dewalt drill motors.
Wedge of Doom with the lid off, displaying it's 18v Dewalt drill motors.
This is what we were served twice a day for 7 days. Well, I exaggerate. Sometimes, instead of turkey, we got roast beef. Or instead of a bun, we got bread. Once we got a bag of chips...
Crew Bots posing for pictures (Roy, the head Crew Bot is on the left).
Bad Badger
Nice hub!
